FAQ

What image formats are supported?

We currently support JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats for import. The output will be standardized to JPEG format, which is ideal for reducing file size.

Will the image quality be reduced?

The tool works by thinning out detailed information that is hard for the human eye to perceive. If you set the slider to around "80%", you can significantly reduce the file size with almost no visible degradation.

Is it safe? Do you save my photos?

Yes, it is completely safe. All processing is done locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers, ensuring your privacy.

Why Compress Images?

Why is "lightweighting" images necessary?
From improving website speed to saving storage space on your phone, we explain the benefits.

For Webmasters & Bloggers: SEO & Page Speed

For anyone running a blog or website, Page Speed is a critical issue. Google considers loading speed (Core Web Vitals) as a ranking factor. By using Benri Lab's Image Compressor to reduce file size while maintaining quality, you can expect improved SEO performance and a better user experience (UX).

How it works: Keeping Quality High

What is Lossy Compression?

This tool uses "Lossy Compression" technology for JPEG and WebP images. This process reduces color information and groups similar colors at a level that is imperceptible to the human eye. Additionally, metadata (Exif) such as shooting date and location information is removed during processing, making it safer for privacy protection.

Everyday Use Cases

When you see a warning like "iPhone storage full," compressing your images before backing them up to the cloud or PC can save a significant amount of space. It is also useful when trying to bypass attachment size limits (e.g., 25MB) in emails or chat apps.
