How to convert a PDF to imagesHow to

  1. Choose or drop your PDF

    After loading, the tool shows the page count and first page size. Conversion starts only when you click Convert to images.

  2. Choose the format, quality, and page range, then click Convert to images

    Use JPG for photos and PNG for text or diagrams. Choose one of five quality levels. Enter a range such as 1-3, 5, or leave it blank for all pages. Click Stop to cancel; pages already converted remain available to save.

  3. Save individual pages or download a ZIP

    Use Save on an individual page or Download all (ZIP) for all converted pages. To try different settings, change them and click Convert to images again without reloading your PDF.

Saving images on your phone

In Safari on iPhone, downloads usually go to the Downloads folder in Files. To save to Photos, tap a converted image to open it at full size, then press and hold it and choose Save to Photos or the equivalent option. On Android, files usually go to the Download folder. The location depends on your device and browser settings.

ZIP files need to be unzipped on your phone, so saving individual images is easier if you only need a few pages.

Not sure? Start with JPG, and if the text is hard to read, convert again as PNG. That keeps file size and readability in balance.

Image quality and output dimensionsResolution

Quality controls the resolution used to render each PDF page. A setting such as 72 dpi means 72 output pixels per inch of the PDF. It does not write print DPI metadata into the saved image.

PDFs with real text and vector graphics get sharper at higher settings. Scanned pages and PDFs made from photos are limited by the resolution of the original images, so a blurry scan stays blurry.

How it worksPrivacy

This tool uses PDF.js, the open-source PDF engine developed by Mozilla, to open your PDF and turn it into images inside your browser. Your PDF and the converted images are never uploaded to Benri Lab’s server.

Your browser still connects to the internet to load the page, the conversion engine, and analytics, so offline use isn’t guaranteed. For confidential documents, follow your organization’s policies.

QIs it free? Do I need an account?

It is free, with no account or login required. The number of pages and maximum image size depend on your device's memory and performance.

QWhy does text look blurry in the converted image?

Choose High or Print quality and click Convert to images again. You do not need to reload the PDF. For text-heavy pages, try PNG. A scanned PDF cannot become sharper than its original scan.

QCan I use this on my phone?

Yes. Choose a PDF from your files and save the converted images. For large PDFs, use lower quality or select fewer pages to reduce memory use.

QCan I print images converted at 300 dpi?

A US Letter page (8.5 × 11 inches) produces a 2,550 × 3,300 pixel image at 300 dpi. Set the paper size in your printing app because the image does not contain print DPI metadata. Enlarging it beyond the original size may reduce sharpness.

QIs my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Your PDF is opened and converted to images in your browser.
