Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the conditions for using the web tools and related content (the "Service") provided on this site by the operator of Benri Lab ("we," "us," or "our").

1. Scope

These Terms form the agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Service. Please review them before using the Service. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Some tools may have their own terms. Those terms apply together with these Terms, and if they conflict, the tool's own terms take priority for that tool, unless they would violate applicable law. Apps we distribute separately under their own terms of use are governed by those terms.

These Terms are an English version of our Japanese 利用規約. If the two versions conflict, the Japanese version controls.

2. Use of the Service and Commercial Use

Unless a page says otherwise, our web tools are free to use. You are responsible for your own internet and device costs.

Unless a tool says otherwise, you may create, convert, or edit images, video, audio, PDFs, text, and other content with the Service, and use the results for both personal and commercial purposes. You must still follow the rights and license terms that apply to your source materials, fonts, and any outside services. These Terms do not give you any right to use third-party materials freely.

3. Your Input and Output

You or the rightful owners keep all rights to the text, images, video, audio, and other data you enter or select. Using the Service does not transfer those rights to us.

You are responsible for making sure you have the copyrights, publicity rights, privacy permissions, and any other rights or permissions needed to process your data and use your output. We do not claim copyright in your output or charge royalties for its use simply because it was created, converted, or edited with the Service.

We do not guarantee that your output, including any AI-generated content, is protected by copyright, does not infringe anyone else's rights, or can be used exclusively by you.

4. Data Handling and Privacy

For how we handle your input, personal information, cookies, and analytics, please see our Privacy Policy and each tool's description. Some tools process everything in your browser, while others send data to our server or to outside services.

Do not enter passwords, credit card numbers, private personal information, or confidential information into features that send data to outside services. The Service is not a storage service, so please save anything you need on your own device.

5. Checking Results and Keeping Your Originals

We do not guarantee that calculations, conversions, displayed information, or other results are accurate, complete, safe, or fit for any particular purpose. Please check the content and how it works yourself before relying on it for important decisions or publishing or sharing it.

Tools and information about health or other specialized topics are for general reference only and are not a substitute for individual advice or diagnosis from a qualified professional. When needed, please check official sources or consult a professional.

Before converting or editing a file, keep a backup of the original, and make sure the output opens correctly and contains everything you need. Depending on your device and browser, processing may fail or stop, and image quality, audio quality, metadata, or other details may change.

6. Prohibited Conduct

When using the Service, you may not:

• Break the law, act against public order or morals, or encourage crime.
• Infringe anyone's copyrights, trademarks, publicity rights, privacy, or other rights.
• Harm the Service or other users through unauthorized access, exploiting vulnerabilities, sending malicious code, or similar means.
• Overload the Service or connected outside services with excessive automated access or other means that interfere with their operation.
• Impersonate the Service or us, or otherwise mislead others.

7. Copyright and Licenses for This Site

The text, images, designs, programs, and other materials on this site belong to us or the respective rights holders. Copying, reposting, or redistributing them beyond what the law allows (such as quotation) or what the rights holder permits is prohibited. This is separate from how your input and output are handled under Section 3.

Open-source software and third-party fonts and materials are subject to their own licenses. For details, see Open Source Licenses and the notices in each tool.

8. Outside Services and Ads

The Service may connect to or link to services provided by third parties, such as AI services, advertising, and other websites. Your use of those services is governed by each provider's terms and privacy policy.

We do not guarantee the content or availability of outside services. Ads and links on the Service do not mean we endorse or guarantee everything on the linked sites. Our liability is governed by Section 10.

9. Changes, Suspension, and Discontinuation of the Service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service as needed for improvements, maintenance, outages, changes to outside services, or other operational reasons.

For changes or discontinuations that significantly affect users, we will announce them on this site in advance whenever possible. However, advance notice may not be possible for emergency maintenance or outages. Our liability for these matters is governed by Section 10.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

You use the Service and its results at your own discretion. We do not guarantee that results will be accurate, complete, safe, or fit for any particular purpose, or that the Service will be free from bugs, interruptions, or data loss. Please back up important data before use and check your results.

We are not liable for damages that arise from causes not attributable to us.

If we are liable for damages due to our ordinary negligence (excluding gross negligence), our liability is limited to the ordinary and direct damages you actually incur.

The limitation in the preceding paragraph does not apply to damages caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or to any other case where applicable law does not allow liability to be limited.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms to reflect changes in law, changes to the Service, or other reasons.

When we do, we will post the fact that the Terms are changing, the updated Terms, and the effective date on this site or announce them in another appropriate way, with reasonable advance notice depending on the nature of the change. Where required by law, we will take other necessary steps, such as obtaining your consent.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. This does not take away any protection you have under mandatory laws that apply to you.

Any dispute between you and us relating to the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Osaka District Court or the Osaka Summary Court in Japan, depending on the amount in dispute, as the court of first instance.
