📄 Best Practices
When creating a resume for the US job market, listing your education correctly is essential. Here are some key tips:
1. Order Matters
Always list your education in reverse chronological order. Start with your highest degree (e.g., Ph.D., Master's, Bachelor's) and work backwards. If you have a college degree, you generally do not need to list your high school.
2. Graduation Date
Include your Expected Graduation Year if you are still a student. For graduates, listing the graduation month and year (e.g., "May 2023") is standard.
3. GPA
Include your GPA only if it is 3.5 or higher, especially if you are a recent graduate. As you gain more work experience, your GPA becomes less relevant and can be removed.
