Mac App Store App

PurrSnapper Privacy Policy

This page explains how information is handled within the PurrSnapper app itself. It is separate from the site-wide Benri Lab privacy policy and includes only the details relevant when using the app.

1. Information We Collect

PurrSnapper does not require you to provide your name, email address, postal address, or other personal information to use its core features. Screenshots and annotation data are also not sent to external servers without your explicit action.

The app does not use tracking cookies, web views, third-party analytics SDKs, or crash reporting tools. It also does not collect advertising identifiers such as IDFA or use device fingerprinting.

All data handled by this app is stored only on your Mac and is not transmitted to external servers. Please see Section 5 for details about the data stored locally.

Apple may collect crash logs or diagnostic data based on your own consent settings. That processing is handled under Apple's privacy policy and is not data collected directly by us. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

2. How Screenshots and Editing Data Are Handled

Screenshots, annotations, exported data, and project data handled by PurrSnapper are generally processed on your Mac. Exporting to a save location or sharing is performed only based on actions you choose.

3. macOS Permissions

PurrSnapper may request macOS permissions for capturing screenshots and for saving or loading files. These permissions are used only for the following purposes.

  • Screen Recording permission: to capture the screen or a window
  • File access: to save, load, or export images and project files

4. Third-Party Sharing, Advertising, and Tracking

PurrSnapper does not use third-party ad tracking for advertising purposes. It also does not provide screenshots or editing data created by users to third parties for sale or advertising purposes.

5. Data Stored Locally

To provide its features, the app stores the following data only on your Mac. None of this data is transmitted to external servers.

  • App settings: preferences such as destination folder, export format, compression quality, timer seconds, sound effects, shadows and fill options, text fonts, in-app display language, and whether permission guidance has been shown
  • Access rights to destination folders: the folder paths you select and macOS sandbox security-scoped bookmarks for those folders
  • Capture macro settings: macro configuration such as macro name, target window name, region coordinates, destination folder, output format, and repeat conditions

All of the data above remains on your Mac and is not transmitted to any external party, including us.

6. Data Management and Deletion

Because all data handled by the app is stored on your Mac, you can manage and delete it yourself.

  • Screenshots and project files: you can delete files directly in Finder from the folders you chose as save locations
  • App settings and macro settings: uninstalling the app removes the related settings data
  • In-app purchase history: this is managed by Apple in connection with your Apple Account, and we cannot manage or delete it. For information about canceling a subscription, please see Apple Support.

Since we do not store your data externally, no deletion request to us is necessary. If you have questions about data handling, please contact us using the information in Section 8.

7. Future Feature Changes

If future versions add cloud sync, analytics, crash reporting, or other features that communicate with external services, this page and the privacy information shown in the Mac App Store will be updated so the changes are clear.

8. Contact

If you have questions about this policy or about how PurrSnapper handles data, please contact us through the following channel.

For the site-wide privacy policy, please also review the Benri Lab Privacy Policy. For the terms that apply to this app, please see the Terms of Service.
