Three tips for a better photo slideshow

A few small choices can make your slideshow easier to watch.

1. Set the pace for your audience

Start with three to five seconds per photo so viewers have time to take in each image. Choose “Slow” (5 seconds) for a relaxed slideshow or “Fast” (2 seconds) for a quick social media recap. Open “More adjustments” to change the display time in half-second increments.

2. Choose the right aspect ratio

Use landscape (16:9) for TVs and YouTube, portrait (9:16) for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts, or square (1:1) for feed posts. For the Natural, Album, and Simple templates, “Show full photo” keeps the whole image visible. “Fill screen” crops the edges to fill the video frame.

3. Pick a template that fits your photos

“Album” adds white borders and a slight tilt for a printed-photo look. “Natural” keeps the focus on your photos with a blurred background, while “Simple” works well for products or reference images. In “More adjustments,” you can turn white photo borders on or off for any template and adjust the border width with the slider.

For more movement, try an animated template. “Photo Drop” lets photos flutter onto a tabletop and overlap. “Pop” uses bright colors and bouncing shapes. “Gallery” moves the camera through a dark, three-dimensional photo display. “Page Turn” flips the pages of an open book with a natural paper curl. “Instant” slides instant photos onto a table and lets each image slowly develop. “Tiles” splits the photo into tiles that flip over to reveal the next one. These templates render every frame and take longer to export than the other styles.

  A. Yes. The built-in tracks are original music by Benri Lab, available for personal and commercial use with no attribution required. If you add your own music, choose a track you have permission to use.

• Q. Can I use HEIC photos from my iPhone?
  A. Supported formats are JPG, PNG, and WebP. HEIC support varies by browser. If a HEIC photo will not load, convert it to JPG with the HEIC to JPEG converter before adding it.
