Colors are applied on the GPU with a 3D LUT (a color lookup table, the same technique used in video color grading). Skin tones are kept from shifting too far.

Softly spreads light from bright areas. It shows up best in night scenes, backlit shots, and string lights.
Adds the red glow that film shows around bright highlights. Use it together with Glow.
Adds grain mostly in the midtones. The grain size scales with the photo, so the saved image looks the same as the preview.
Darkens the corners to draw the eye to the center.
Smooths only skin-colored areas while keeping edges sharp.
Adds color as if light were leaking in from the edge of the frame. Use the shuffle button next to the name to move it.

Black mist (such as Black Pro-Mist) is a lens filter that softly spreads light from bright areas. This tool’s Glow recreates that feel with image processing, so results won’t match a real filter exactly.
