How to Compress an Image to 200KBQuick guide

  1. Choose one or more images

    Select JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, or HEIF files. You can add more files later.

  2. Select “200KB max”

    Use the 200KB preset. If a website also limits image width, enter its maximum width in pixels.

  3. Compress and download

    Choose JPG for most forms and photos, then click “Compress to Target Size.” Review the result and download it.

How to Compress iPhone Photos to 200KBHEIC and HEIF

  1. Choose a photo from your iPhone

    Select a photo from Photos or Files. HEIC, HEIF, and JPEG are supported.

  2. Set 200KB and choose JPG

    Select “200KB max” and JPG, then start compression. You can use another preset or enter a custom limit.

  3. Check and save the result

    Review the final file size and dimensions. Downloads usually appear in the Files app; use Share → Save Image to add one to Photos.

HEIC and HEIF photos are converted while being compressed, entirely in your browser. Live Photo video and depth data are not included, and exact HDR or wide-color reproduction is not supported.

Choose a Target Size from 50KB to 2MBFile size settings

Use the limit required by the website, application, or online form. Common targets are available as presets; for a limit such as 300KB, type 300 and select KB.

A smaller target creates a lighter file but may reduce fine detail or text clarity. Results vary with the original image, format, and pixel dimensions, so check the output preview.

File size in KB or MB is different from image dimensions in pixels. The tool first adjusts quality within your width setting. It reduces dimensions further only when that option is enabled.

If an upload form still rejects your image

Some forms also restrict format, pixel dimensions, aspect ratio, or file name. Check every requirement and set JPG and a maximum width when needed. Re-encoding normally removes EXIF, GPS, and camera metadata; files skipped because they are already small keep their original data.

Frequently Asked QuestionsFAQ

Will my image be exactly 200KB?

The result will be 200,000 bytes or smaller. The tool does not add unnecessary data just to reach exactly 200KB.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Processing happens locally in your browser. Your images, file names, and photo metadata are not sent to our server.

Can I compress an iPhone HEIC image?

Yes. HEIC and HEIF input is supported, though some codecs or files may not decode. For a file with multiple images, only the first is used. Live Photo video, depth data, and exact HDR reproduction are not included.

What happens to transparent backgrounds?

JPG fills transparency with white or your selected background color. WebP preserves transparency. Animated WebP, APNG, GIF, SVG, and PDF are not supported.

Can the compressed file become larger?

Yes. Changing formats or re-encoding can increase file size. The increase is shown, and the file can be saved only if it still meets your target.

Can I compress multiple images at once?

Yes. You can process up to 50 images with the same settings and download successful results in one ZIP file.

Can the entire ZIP be kept under my target?

No. The limit applies to each image separately, not to the ZIP total. Only successful results made with the current settings are included.

Can I set a custom limit such as 300KB?

Yes. Choose a preset or enter any target from 1KB through 20MB, with up to two decimal places.

Where are downloads saved on iPhone?

They usually appear in the Downloads folder in the Files app. To add an image to Photos, open it and choose Share → Save Image. The exact location can vary by Safari settings and iOS version.
